    First,
let tell you that you should write with zero mistakes mainly that you are an English teacher.
    Second,
try to befriend your students, love them, wish them the best ....
Third, make the lesson quite exciting .........
And good luck for your research

Motivating students is not a very hard task to do, you just need to be patient.
i advise you to create some activities in the classroom that would promote the learners' motivation; students want and need work that stimulates their curiosity and awakens their desire for deep understanding, you may divide them into groups and then ask them to get as much information as possible (on a topic that you select) and then the pupils who prepare the best work will be rewarded. You know getting good marks is the most important thing that pupils care about, so you have to work on this, every good thing that the pupils would do they will get + 1 or 2 in the oral test. Indeed the majority of the students perform to gain a reward or avoid a punishment

you must make your students competetive by encouraging them to make reaserchs and ask about difficult words and each one who finds the solution; give him +2 in the oral test

it is not quite easy to motivate these days students ..
As a former student , I know that rewards were a good way to make me wanna work but it is not always the best ...
english lessons must be interactive, which make them more interesting ..So try always to make your lesson a discussion between groups about important issues . try not to do too grammar apart because , and believe me when I say that , it is the most boring thing you can ever come up with ...just make it seems like a comment while talking about a subject ...
last thing, if you want your pupils to work hard so forget that they are pupils and act as if you were one of them
    ...

i think u are making a critical mistake SIR
first of all,i think u studied ELT or at least some about teaching methodology during ur studies(undergraduation courses)
second, this is a very technical question we got there u shouldn't ask for such matter on an unspecialized forum because taking the wrong advice may affect ur students very badly and even may cause bad learning strategies that won't help u anyway,
sir i advise u to check the course of ELT (english language teaching)and more specifically about communicative language teaching and also Eclectic method in teaching;u may find some sources in the internet or copy some course from one of the 4th year students of English( i know it's not good to go backward in such fragile things but it would be helpfull in ur case)
take those methods into consideration while adapting them to ur class practises and never apply a strict one(be flexible in handling each method
    )
i hope u enjoy ur work and work through ur research with no troubles, Good luck:satelite:

this is the problem with 4th year

only linguistics students are well prepared for

    teaching

the others see ELT as something boring

in our university they don't attend ELT class

    :bang:
